Inclusivity

This Committee exists with and for the intention of actively attracting and welcoming the afflicted who want to stop drinking, specifically embracing those typically marginalized by society.

Further: we intend to share information; along with our accumulated experience, knowledge and understanding, while raising awareness of inclusivity and related needs throughout the meetings in our Area 48.

The Oxford dictionary defines inclusive as:

“3. aiming to provide equal access to opportunities and resources for people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized, such as those having physical or mental disabilities or belonging to other minority groups.”

Some examples of marginalized groups:

Senior citizens, youth, racial or cultural minorities, military combat veterans, LGBTQ+ People, persons with visual, hearing and/or physical challenges or disabilities, ex-offenders, the homeless, persons with grave behavioral or mental health disorders.

Thank you for your interest, suggestions and participation.
