Sobriety in AA: Opening doors to a life without drinking
Since its founding in 1935, the program and fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous has helped millions of men and women recover from alcoholism.
Area 48 is a service entity comprised of Alcoholics Anonymous groups throughout northeastern New York. We stretch from Beacon in the south to the Canadian border in the North, from the eastern border of New York State to Canastota, Madison County, in central New York, including Albany, Saratoga, Poughkeepsie, Utica, Rome, Amsterdam, and Kingston. There are 18 districts within our area.
Area 48 is one of four AA service areas in New York State. Links to the Southeastern, Central, and Western areas of NY can be found here.
The area holds an important middle position in the Conference Structure – through the elected delegate, it participates in AA worldwide, while through the District Committee Members and Group Service Representatives, it is close to the local scene.
The purpose of this website is to provide information both for members of AA and to the public. You will find here a list of all the meetings in our area, resources for various service committees and information on upcoming events.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
